Econ 101

Last night was my first "real" class. I arrived early so I could purchase my book and figure out where my class was located. Since the book is a new edition this year I had to buy a new instead of used one:

Yup, thats right, this 373 page soft cover book costs $136.00. Luckily it smells like new book and the important words are in bold. Otherwise I wouldn't have bought it.

Purchasing my outrageously expensive book only took 7 minutes so I wandered campus to find my class. After walking around for 20 minutes I discovered the right building was right across the street from the bookstore (where I bought "the book"). Still, I was 15 minutes early.

I sat and discussed with fellow classmates the freakin expensive textbook and if it was really necessary. We also discussed a site called pickaprof.com where you can rate your professors and see how others have been rated. It even has a graph to show how many As, Bs, Cs Ds and Fs a teacher gives. I asked if anyone had checked this dude out. No such luck.

We chatted a little more but as 7 approached we quieted down. The professor was almost 4 minutes late. Then from behind me, the same kid who proposed the idea of purchasing one book and renting it to the rest of us said, "Welcome to Econ 101"

Um dude, thats kinda fun, you know, sneaking in and spying on us, but a little too "Saved By The Bell: The College Years" for me.

Ok, that sucks, but has anyone looked at the picture I see several 'cringe, thats SO wrong' problems with it.
Also ratemyproffesor.com is another site.

Did you check into all of those sites where you can buy the books cheaper? Even if it's new, was it used summer semester somewhere? Why are you taking this class anyways? And, did I understand right? The teacher was the guy sitting behind you listening in on the students? Creepy. Just lost my trust!

I did check those sites. Amazon sells it new for $108 but they are out of stock. Over the summer they used the 6th edition... i looked into that. I am flattered that you care so much about me not spending my money. I am taking the class cause I want to and I find the subject interesting. The creepy teacher was sitting behind us, spying.

Oh, and sorry about the stupidly expensive text book.

umm just for future reference.... allbookstores.com you can enter the ISBN number and it compares several(lie 10 or more) places that sale it. I know stupid question, but did you check Craigslist? and the background is Sweet!
